Country Bookshelf Author Event – “Feminism’s Forgotten Fight: the Unfinished Struggle for Work and Family”

An announcement from Heather Jackson, community member and past BPW member:

Author event – book signing and discussion with Kirsten Swinth

On Nov. 1st at 6:00pm, author Kirsten Swinth will discuss her new book, Feminism’s Forgotten Fight: The Unfinished Struggle for Work and Family, at Bozeman’s Country Bookshelf downtown.

In her book, Kirsten offers a spirited defense of feminism and examines the lack of support for working mothers that we’ve seen across generations and still today. She resurrects the 1960’s & 70’s feminist movement’s comprehensive vision for work and family at a time when feminism’s principles are under renewed attack

This a free event that is open to the public.  The Author will be available to sign copies of her book after the discussion!

Kirsten Swinth is associate professor of history and American studies at Fordham University in New York.  A graduate of Bozeman high school, she earned degrees from Stanford and Yale universities.  Winner of multiple awards, she is the author of  Painting Professionals: Women Artists and the Development of Modern American Art, 1870–1930
